Nathdwara fly -over on NH -8 in Rajsamand district ,rajasthan (India).... A masterpiece of faulty engineering. Recently two years back road from Udaipur to gomati (strip of road in nh-8) was converted in fourlane. Construction company was sadhbhav engineering and passed by NHAI. It cost around 100corores. There is a high hill on southern tip of Nathdwara and Banas river flows at it's nothern end. This fly over was made and there is 90 degree curve and a steep slope from south to north. Within two months of opening two major accidents have occurred. Finding no ways to come out Toll company and NHAI have made 80 barriers to slow traffic. Now traffic crawls down @20km/hr. My question 1)Is this a engineering blunder? 2) will these 80 barriers will effect the fly over? (heavy multiple -axle trucks are passing on it) 3)Do anywhere in world speed barriers are made on fly -overs? This fly over is already designed for six-lane traffic. There is a petrol pump at 90 degree curve below fly over. The people of India are supposed to pay toll for 27 years ,which is 135 /-rs at present.
